Description: Aveiro is a town and district of north western Portugal bordering on the Atlantic and is part of the province of Beira Litoral. Salt is prepared in the salt pans of the of the Aveiro estuary and the area is well known for its fish and seaweed which is used mainly for fertilisers. Also found here are wines, meat, fruit and vegetables, cereals and dairy produce.
