Description: Faro is a district co-extensive with the region and province of Algarve, along the southern end of the coast of Portugal. It has a sub-tropical climate with vegetation reminiscent of northern Africa. Red, white and rosé wines are produced as well as a sherry-like dessert wine. It is also known for its Mediterranean fruits and fish.
