Romadur

Description: Romadur is a small brick of soft cheese made with cow's milk, similar to Limburger, but milder. The whole milk version is similar to Liederkranz. It has a yellow paste and a salted, orange rind. It is made in southern Germany, particularly Bavaria. About 12 pounds of cured cheese is obtained from 100 pounds of whole milk This cheese is made with whole or semi-skimmed and contains 47% fat in the solids when made with whole milk. It may be found in the following dimensions: 11.5 cm (4½") long x 5 cm (2") deep x 5 cm (2") wide, weighing 455 gm (1 lb). The cheeses are wrapped in parchment and tinfoil and are packed in wooden boxes for shipment.
