Description: A very strong brandy-based spirit made from must or marc in regions where the vine is cultivated. If the wine of a year is good, the aguardiente will be poor and vice versa. May also be made from distilled molasses. Sometimes flavoured with aniseed, it is similar to grappa from Italy or marc from France. It is also Spanish for brandy. In Mexico it is distilled from sugar cane.
